A guest SSID? will allow me to allow visitors to connect to my internet service without the need to have access to my LAN resources. However, when using Comcast’s modem/routers, this is not an option. I have gone into detail of why in another page, but the simple thing is as long as I am required to use Comcast’s hardware, I will not have a guest network access.
So what can be done? Well, if the customer wishes to use Comcast’s modem/router combination, that is fine for them. They should allow Internet Essentials customers to use their own hardware. I would rather to be using my own hardware for internet service. This has been so much that I know I will never use Comcast if I had a better solution.
