Welcome to my WTF Internet Essentials website. For those that don’t know, Internet Essentials is a low income internet plan that provides households with a 75BPS plan for $15. I have rarely reached those speeds with any speed test I done, and the modem is required rather than allowing me to use my own hardware. While I am grateful for Internet Essentials, this is service is not nearly perfect, and there are a number of issues I have with the program. That is what this website is all about. As for where I live now, Comcast/Xfinity is the only option in my apartment building. This eliminates the option to choose another ISP^? even if I could afford to. And yes, I know – there are cellular internet service providers, but I would rather have something that uses the more conventional cables running on poles, or underground. When the network gets congested, everyone suffers (including home internet users).
